ORDINO ARCALÍS, THE EXTRAORDINARY RESORT
A high-mountain experience, with history, quality snow, and nature all year round.
The small resort that became an international benchmark for freeride
Thanks to the efforts of the residents of Ordino, the resort was officially inaugurated in the 1983-84 season, with three ski tows, one chairlift, and barely six slopes. Over the following decade, the resort constantly evolved, incorporating new lifts, improving its facilities , and expanding its slopes. In 1994, the expansion into the Creussans area and the installation of the Feixans ski tow marked a key milestone, establishing Ordino Arcalís as a pioneering destination for freeride in the Pyrenees.
In 2004, the resort joined the Vallnord brand (together with Pal Arinsal – Vallnord), thus bringing together the two resorts of Andorra’s northern valleys.
Since 2015, Ordino Arcalís has established itself as an international benchmark for freeride, being a regular host for Freeride World Tour events. Soon, in 2026, the resort will host the first FIS Freeride World Championships.
In 2018, management was taken over by the company SAETDE, and a year later the resort was fully integrated into Grandvalira Resorts along with Grandvalira resort.
The inauguration in 2021 of the Mirador Solar de Tristaina marked an important milestone in the resort’s history. It is a viewpoint - sundial located on the peak of Peyreguils, at 2,701 meters above sea level and suspended above the ground, just a few meters from the geographic border between Andorra and France. Today, it is visited by thousands of people who want to enjoy views of the Tristaina lakes and the Ordino valley, rapidly becoming yet another icon of the resort.
In 2023, on the occasion of the 40th anniversary, the history of the resort was commemorated with a documentary featuring testimonials from former workers who witnessed the birth of the resort. Today, Ordino Arcalís continues to captivate with its exceptional conditions for mountain sports, offering a total of 30.50 km of slopes.
