Grandvalira

GRANDVALIRA, THE INFINITE WINTER

One of the largest resorts in Europe with 215 km of skiable terrain, divided into 7 interconnected sectors.

Grandvalira: Early Years

Grandvalira was born in 2003 with the union of two of the most emblematic resorts in the Pyrenees: Pas de la CasaGrau RoigEncamp, inaugurated in 1956, and SoldeuEl TarterCanillo, operating since 1964. This alliance marked a turning point in the history of skiing in Andorra, giving rise to the largest skiable area in the Pyrenees and one of the largest in Europe.

With 215 skiable kilometers and 142 slopes of all levels, Grandvalira consolidated its leadership thanks to a single ski pass that allows visitors to enjoy the entire resort in an integrated way. The expansion continued in the 2019 season with the incorporation of the Peretol sector, which definitively connected all sectors of the area.

Winter in Grandvalira

Grandvalira offers a unique experience in southern Europe thanks to the excellent connectivity between sectors and the smooth access points, allowing you to enjoy the resort with total comfort, no matter where you enter.

The resort has its own ski school, made up of a team of certified and specialized instructors. Lessons are aimed both at people new to skiing and at those looking to improve their skills with classes focused on different disciplines such as freeride or freestyle. Children can also get started from the age of 3 thanks to courses that combine play with learning to ski.

In addition to skiing, Grandvalira offers a range of adventure and leisure activities in the snow for the whole family: excursions by dog sledding (mushing), snowmobiles, snowshoes, among other experiences designed to enjoy the environment in an active and safe way. As part of the après-ski scene, entertainment events are combined with performances by international DJs, such as those held at L’Abarset in the El Tarter sector, or the collaboration of the Pas de la Casa sector with the Hibernation electronic music festival.

The culinary offering is present in all sectors, with options ranging from quick-service points to à la carte mountain restaurants, as well as gourmet dinners and tastings with renowned chefs, establishing Grandvalira as a complete destination.

On the other hand, several national and international sports events in the world of skiing are held regularly in the Grandvalira sectors, the most notable being:

  • Alpine Skiing World Cup
  • Alpine Skiing European Cup
  • Speed Skiing Cup.

Summer in Grandvalira

When the snow melts, Grandvalira adapts its facilities and sectors to offer summer activities that combine leisure and sport, creating experiences that allow visitors to enjoy the mountain from different perspectives.

The Canillo sector is home to the Mon(t) Magic Family Park, a space designed for family fun featuring attractions such as the zip line, the Magic Gliss slide, canoes and kayaks, trampolines, themed trails, and panoramic viewpoints, among others.

In Soldeu, the ski resort gives way to Golf Soldeu, a golf course designed by architect Jeremy Pern and located at 2,250 metres above sea level, making it one of the highest in Europe.

Conceived with technical features that make it accessible for players of all levels, its 9 holes and par 33 blend harmoniously into the landscape, making the most of the natural topography and surroundings.

In addition, Grandvalira offers e-bike routes that cross its sectors and can be accessed from several points. Among them is Funicamp, the longest funicamp in Europe with a 6 km route. Together with Grau Roig, it serves as the gateway to several mountain trails and guided excursions that showcase the natural richness of Andorra’s valleys and forests. In this way, Grandvalira demonstrates its ability to offer diverse and complementary experiences throughout the year.
